Requirements outlined:
The number 1 aim for Orijen was to have an un-matched ecommerce website design facility that allowed consumers to effortlessly browse the Petfood catalog and complete online orders seamlessly. Orijen's owner David Graham anticipated a need for quick re-ordeing. This would help the company cater for a busy and loyal client base wishing to re-order Dog food on a weekly basis. Orijen asked us to pay particular attention to the cosmetics whilst focusing on providing key design elements suitable for Google SEO indexing. Other key requirements included fast page loading vs a high requirement for graphical and text content. Finding ways to intelligently display volume text based content was also a key requirement.
ECommerce services employed:
- Custom graphic design
- Flash animation + custom banners
- Ecommerce platform + CMS
- Ajax Add To Cart
- Ajax Login
- Ajax Coupon display
- Quick re-ordering with attributes
- Staff training provided
The results:
Enhancing the conversion path
The conversion path is the path consumers take when completing a sale. Orijen's owner David Graham has seen many templated systems confuse users through ineffective, and over complicated checkout systems that ultimately lead to cart abandonment.
By employing intelligent technologies known as JQuery, Eazyshop were able to reduce cart abandonment, and enhance the conversion path. JQuery allowed us to load internal pages on top of the main purchasing or target / product area. This allows the site to keep customer's on target pages since A: They're not required to leave or enter a new page to view cart contents, and B: They can login over top of target areas thus eliminating the need to leave target pages "product pages".
Ajax technologies was used to load the customer login page without requiring the customer to leave the target "purchasing" area. This ensured a more intuitive conversion path since it eliminates traditional approaches that require the customer to leave target areas in order to login. This provided huge advances from a usability perspective resulting in an enhanced conversion path.
Reduce cart abandonment:
The term cart abandonment is used to describe a customer that leaves a site before completing the sale. Orijen's owner David Graham wanted to reduce the cart abandonment rate as much as possible.
To achieve this we developed a reduced shopping cart process taking the traditional process from 4 steps to only two. We also re-wrote the checkout content allowing us to withdraw unnecessary fields that could confuse the end user. Other developments we used to reduce cart abandonment included:

How this function improves the conversion path:
This function allows the login page to load over top of target pages chosen by the customer i.e. product pages. The conversion path is improved purely through navigation enhancements that remove unecessary design elements that may confuse the customer.
What happens after the Login button is clicked?

A window loads over top of the existing page as apposed to the traditional approach that requires the user to leave the page in order to login

Ajax - Quick Reordering:

How this function works:
There's nothing more tedius than having to completly re-make an order over and over again. We developed this module to allow Orijen's customers to complete a re-order within 12 seconds flat.
The re-order process outlined?
step1: LOGIN

step2: SELECT REORDER

step3: TICK AND SELECT REORDER

How this function improves the conversion path:
Ajax Add To Cart allows the consumers shopping cart contents to load seamlessly and dynamically without requiring the consumer to leave the target page. This makes it far easier for the consumer to add more items to their order since they remain inside the product page area.

The concept:
We came up with the Petfolio concept for Orijen. This allows Pet owners to upload their Pet images with a chance to win Dogfood prizes. The Pet owners portfolio and the Pet's portfolio are also included.

Words from the owner:
Eazyshop designed and built us a fantastic website www.orijen.co.nz that we’re delighted with at a fraction of the price of any others we could find. Not only was it a full blown e-commerce site, complete with shopping cart, credit card payments and checkout facilities but its an extremely powerful marketing tool which affords us the flexibility we needed to write page after page of information on our relevant topic matter. The CMS software that comes with the package let’s us re-write these pages, alter photos and tweak a number of areas anytime we need to or choose to.
Eazyshop was responsive to our needs, efficiently attended to changes when we altered things and tried different looks and we think the final result is awesome. Just what we had hoped for - despite the fact the site has been live for less than a week we’ve already getting regular positive feedback from clients who have used it and also made a number of sales. We have no hesitation in recommending Eazyshop for E-commerce development – certainly we are very pleased with the results.
